DESCRIPTION:The Learn-to-Swim program is for individuals who have a physical or visual disability that are new to swimming. Athletes will be assigned one-on-one to a volunteer swim instructor. Floatation devices will not be used in the teaching progression. (Sessions: 4:00 – 4:45 pm & 5:00 – 5:45 pm\, ages 5-17) \nThe Competitive Swim program is designed for swimmers who are able to swim at least 50 meters consecutively\, can be completely independent while in the water (no volunteer or coach assistance needed)\, and who are currently or plan to swim with a club or high school in the future. Workouts are provided to increase endurance\, strength and speed. Instruction is given to fine tune technique. Recreational swimmers who are looking to improve their technique or stroke are welcome. (Session: 6:00 – 7:00 pm) \nSundays: September 24\, 2023 thru December 17\, 2023 (except 10/29\, 11/26) Limited availability. \nInstructional Swim also offered on Tuesdays: Alfred Campanelli YMCA 300 W Wise Rd.\, Schaumburg\, IL 60193 \nOctober 17\, 2023 thru December 19\, 2023 \n5:45pm-6:30pm (Instructional\, ages 5-17) – 4 lanes per session \n6:45pm-7:30pm (Instructional\, ages 5-17) – 4 lanes per session
